Vladimir Nabokov and Lionel Trilling Discuss Lolita

Imagine such intelligent discussion on television today.

..and find below a staggering quoting of Lolita from Lana Del Rey in the song Off To The Races... amazing when she talks about Lolita in interviews she actually means a personification of Dolores in a 21st Century setting. I reckon Nabokov would get it..

'Lolita, light of my life, fire of my loins. My sin, my soul. Lo-lee-ta: the tip of the tongue taking a trip of three steps down the palate to tap, at three, on the teeth. Lo. Lee. Ta.
She was Lo, plain Lo, in the morning, standing four feet ten in one sock. She was Lola in slacks. She was Dolly at school. She was Dolores on the dotted line. But in my arms she was always Lolita.'

We need more intelligent discussion on television for those starved. Instead we get Big Brother and ridiculous talent shows. I have, for many years watched close to nothing but News at 10 and Eastenders.
