Music Makes Our World Go Round

Of all the things in life besides literature, I think music is the thing that often keeps my heart beating. So I thought we'd share what we've been listening to over the last couple of weeks at the Siddique home unit.

Black Sabbath - Dehumaniser, Mob Rules, Volume 4
Rainbow - Rising
(Basically a big tribute to the awesome Ronnie James Dio)

Crystal Castles - Crystal Castles II
Peter Gabriel - Scratch My Back
Shakespeare's Sister - Stay
Balil - lots of tracks from different compilations
Mozart - Fugue String Quartets
Scorpions - Virgin Killer, Tokyo Tapes
Vaughn Williams - 5 variants of dives and lazarus
Jowonio - The Meat and Bread Variations (sad but we love our own ep)
Aphrodite's Child - 666
The Enid - Fand (Stand Version)
The Rolling Stones - Exile On Main Street
Led Zeppelin - Bombay Orchestra Sessions

How most days begin for me.. Talking to myself in my journal trying to find the beginnings, continuations and resolutions for each thing.. striking sparks.. trying to live from my spirit..

Ronnie James Dio

Ronnie James Dio..

Where is your star, is it far.. Rest in peace..
What a voice.. Thing I liked about him, besides the voice, was he was like part of the fabric of rock music throughout my musical life.. Butterfly ball, rainbow, sabbath.. Bit of his solo stuff.. Loved his music much more than I knew I did, if that makes sense.. Never understated like you said.. Mow wish o had a copy of 'love is all' from the butterfly ball.. Goodnight Ronnie

Here was the first record i remember with him on it.. I was 10 when this was on the radio back then on the the saturday Request Show..

and of course STARGAZER

Thank You Ronnie - Rest well now

Charlie says....success leads to..

noticed a strange phenomena that whenever one has a bit of a success in the poetry/literary world.. a couple of 'friends' vanish from the facebook numbers.. I do wish there were 'friends' and 'acquaintances' categories on FB.. people are the strangest people.

Please share this poem around wherever you think it might be useful.....

'It is simply not enough to just live, we have have something to live for.'

without Arts & Culture we are not alive...

Simple Economics is taken from my first book 'The Prize' published by the lovely people at Rialto
